Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Welcome to the MiniBikeFrame.com help center. Here are answers to the most common questions we receive from builders and riders. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out to our team!
General Product Questions
1. What material are your mini bike frames made from?
Our standard frames are constructed from heavy-duty American steel tubing (typically 7/8″ or 1″ diameter, depending on the model). This ensures durability, strength, and the ability to weld or modify them easily if desired.
2. Do your frames come painted or powder coated?
Most of our frames are available in raw steel (ready for your custom paint) or with a standard black powder coat finish. Some models offer additional color options listed on the product page. If you want a custom color, please contact us for a quote.
3. Are your frames compatible with any engine?
Our frames are designed to fit the most common small engine bolt patterns:
- Predator 212cc / Honda GX200 / Clone 196cc (standard 4-stroke)
- Predator 79cc / Honda GX120 (smaller mini bikes)
- Many frames also accept 5/8″ or 3/4″ shaft engines with a standard mounting plate.
Always check the “Specifications” tab on the product page for exact engine compatibility. If you are unsure, email us a picture of your engine and we will verify fitment.
4. What wheel and tire size fits your frames?
Most of our standard mini bike frames are designed for 6″ wheels with 145/70-6 tires or 8″ wheels with 18×9.50-8 tires. The specific wheel size is listed on each product page. Some frames can accept multiple sizes with minor modification (such as spacers or fender adjustments).
5. Do I need to weld anything to assemble the bike?
No. Our frames are designed for bolt-together assembly using standard hand tools. Engine mounting plates, foot pegs, and kickstands bolt directly on. You may need to drill holes for accessories, but no structural welding is required.
6. Do you sell complete bikes or just frames?
We specialize in frames and rolling chassis kits. We do not sell turn-key, ready-to-ride bikes. However, we offer a wide selection of parts (forks, fenders, wheels, brake kits, and hardware) so you can build a complete bike from scratch or upgrade an existing one.
Ordering & Payment
7. How do I place an order?
Simply add items to your cart and checkout through our secure website. We accept Zelle, Venmo, Chime Pay, Bitcoin and CashApp
8. Can I cancel or change my order?
Yes, if the order has not yet shipped. Please contact us within 12 hours of placing the order to make changes. Once the package has left our facility, we cannot cancel it, but you may initiate a return after delivery (see our Returns page).
9. Do you offer discounts or coupons?
Occasionally we run promotions. Sign up for our newsletter to receive exclusive discount codes and early access to new frame releases.
10. Do you charge sales tax?
We collect sales tax only in states where we have a physical presence, as required by law. The tax will be calculated automatically at checkout based on your shipping address.
Shipping & Delivery
11. How long does it take to receive my order?
Orders are usually processed within 1–3 business days. Shipping time depends on your location:
- Standard Ground: 3–7 business days within the continental US.
- Expedited: 2–3 business days (available on select items).
Please refer to our Shipping Info page for detailed timelines.
12. How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the weight and dimensions of the package and your location. Because frames are bulky, shipping can vary widely. You will see the exact cost before you pay.
13. Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to Canada, the UK, Australia, and select European countries. International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees imposed by their country.
14. Will I receive a tracking number?
Yes, as soon as your order ships, you will receive an email with a tracking link from UPS, FedEx, or USPS.
15. My tracking says delivered but I don’t see the package. What should I do?
First, check around your property (side door, garage, behind bushes) and with neighbors. If it is still missing, contact us within 5 days, and we will open a trace with the carrier.
Returns & Warranty
16. What is your return policy?
You may return unused, unmodified items within 30 days of delivery. A 15% restocking fee applies to standard returns (buyer’s remorse). Custom-built or powder coated frames are non-returnable unless they arrive defective. Please see our Returns & Refunds page for full details.
17. What if my frame arrives damaged or has a defect?
Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage or defect. We will send a replacement part or issue a full refund, depending on the situation. We will also cover return shipping for defective items.
18. Do your frames come with a warranty?
Yes, our frames are warranted against manufacturing defects for 90 days from the date of purchase. This does not cover damage caused by misuse, modification, or normal wear and tear. Welding or altering the frame in any way voids the warranty.
Assembly & Technical Support
19. Do you provide assembly instructions?
Yes! Every frame ships with a basic assembly guide. We also have a video library on our website showing step-by-step builds using our frames. If you get stuck, email us a photo and we will help you figure it out.
20. What tools do I need to assemble a mini bike?
Basic hand tools are sufficient:
- Socket set (metric and SAE)
- Wrenches
- Allen keys
- Screwdrivers
- Torque wrench (recommended for engine bolts)
- Blue Loctite thread locker for bolts that vibrate loose
21. Can I modify your frames (chop, stretch, add brackets)?
Absolutely! Our frames are popular with custom builders. You can weld on gussets, add motor mounts, or stretch the frame as long as you are comfortable with fabrication. Just remember that any structural modification voids the warranty and you assume responsibility for the safety of the bike.
22. What size chain and clutch do I need?
Most mini bikes with a 212cc engine use #35 chain and a 12-tooth clutch with a 3/4″ bore. However, this depends on your wheel sprocket and engine shaft. Check your engine’s shaft size and your rear sprocket tooth count before ordering. If you’re not sure, ask us!
23. Do you sell replacement parts for your frames?
Yes, we carry spare foot pegs, engine mounting plates, axle bolts, bearings, and other small parts. If you need something specific, contact us with a photo or description and we will point you to the right product.
